...a rapid scan and skip approach is called for rather than "cover to cover". Reading them word for word causes extreme high blood pressure and me Old Grannies revolutionary songs spring into mind. If I'm thinking of buying, the "how you do X" part of the reference manual is usually the fastest and most reliable indicator of the exactly what it is and the degree of reality of an advertized feature.
