Hi Nick,
I use the Hp usb bootdisk (windoze) utility
this creates a bootable dos disk.
I believe that it is mainly marking the usb as bootable
as well as creating a dos file system.
If it boots into dos it will also boot linux.
I then install Puppy linux to the usb following the instructions from
the puppy website.
For pc that won't support usb booting there is a floppy boot disk that
will find usb or other drives with puppy linux installed and boot them
very handy.
(check the puppy forums or do a net search for full details).
Regards
Michael

I have a VIA EPIA M9000 motherboard that I am trying to run diskless.
The VIA FAQ says
"Q: Can EPIA M/B use USB Stick boot ?
A: All EPIA series M/B can support USB stick boot but need to check
If your stick can support or not."
So how do I tell whether my stick can support booting? It doesn't seem
to be bloody working.
