I assert that that is irrelevant. When handling GST you should split any transaction into net and GST portions, perhaps even GST_recd and GST_paid, then just treat the GST portion as a reportable category. Slice it and dice it any way you want. Oh, and I have been using MS Money for 10 years. It is a fabulous program, but I need to wean myself off it (and it won't run under Wine). I am watching this thread with interest (no pun intended!). I have evaluated GnuCash (too fugly), KMyMoney (too raw) and I was leaning towards MoneyDance, but I need to reassess the options again.
