You are right Yuri - but it can be tough. Marketers know very well the power
of what I've seen called 'affirmatory advertising' - it's not targeted at
prospects like most adverts, but at past buyers, trying to make them feel
good about their purchase and thereby build long term customer loyalty.

There's also a well known concept called the reticulatory activating system
- the phenomenon where your brain notices something more after you have
bought it. Think about the last time you bought a car - did you notice how
many similar cars you saw just like it and dint realise it was such a common
model? Its a brain pattern matching thing.

So, try as you might, the combined effects of your brain and the wiles of
marketers will... umm... do your head in.

Back on topic... I've had a eeepc 900 for nearly two years now. Still very
'content' with it. Runs better with each Ubuntu release. Happy to recommend
it.
