Indeed, but it requires a second PC, not just a second monitor, mouse 
and keyboard.
That said, however, you certainly wouldn't need a workhorse.

Michael, check out the Linux Terminal Server Project at 
http://www.ltsp.org, they just might have what you're looking for.
