I picked up a Lexmark E312 Optra for about $300. The toner cartirdige I have does approx 5000 pages for a chunk of change($140).. My folks have a HP 6L with cartridges around $65 or so, they replace three before I replace 1. They might be lucky if they get 1000-1200 off a cartridge.
