I've looked at some length at the two files Kurt offered, but can't figure out what parameters could/should be altered in an attempt to better cope with a high-latency link.
I've seen the problem now in 3 different email programs and 3 different distros (COL, SuSE, Gentoo). If this is indeed caused by the satellite latency, surely I'm not the only one to have had a problem with it. Any help appreciated.
