I noticed this too when I downloaded the images so I could start on the rpm failure thing. I believe it to be some kind of funky horn dog encryption bullsh!t that has not been fully implimented as of yet... Thats the reason for the file system check for each CD. They wanna know if how often it hoarks the iso image (In fact, a lot of people are having problems with RH R8iso images ). My bet is that in the future, they are gonna use it to force registration. I think Kurt had it right. Dump RH for a better distro. Or as my newphew would say: RedHat blows.............
