I have had a lexmark z53 for a while and use it for text printing mainly.
Works fine and has drivers for linux from lexmark.
I just decided to use it for color printing and to my surprise the colors
are just "washed out." I am using 2400 dpi and glossy paper. I have cleaned
the nozzles and that helped a little bit, but things are still very unimpressive.
The test page seems to print ok until you realize the colors seem a bit
weak.

I tried to print a TIF file with my windows box with the lexmark drivers,
but, although the windows box will print out a test page and a text page,
attempts to print a TIF file, either to the printer or to a file, just
result in the print job going away after it spools. I can't see that it
gets either to a file or to my linux print server. So, it seems to be
a windows spooler problem.

Anybody doing high quality color printing with this printer? If so,
how?
Thanks,
Joel
