The UP is a funny place. The Keeweenaw can get 400 inches and the
interior can end up with 60. But thats OK, a two hour drive puts me at
Mt Bohemia and living inland I dont have to shovel as much. The only
real draw back is that we are generally warmer year round except for
the cold spells where a system stalls over us. Then without the lake to
warm the air a bit we get about 6-10 colder. But then what does it
matter, -35 or -45 both freeze you nose hairs on the first breath. It
just a bitch when it hangs for three or so weeks which luckly only
happens every four or five years.
