The UP is a funny place. The Keeweenaw can get 400 inches and the interior can end up with 60. But thats OK, a two hour drive puts me at Mt Bohemia and living inland I dont have to shovel as much. The only real draw back is that we are generally warmer year round except for the cold spells where a system stalls over us. Then without the lake to warm the air a bit we get about 6-10 colder. But then what does it matter, -35 or -45 both freeze you nose hairs on the first breath. It just a bitch when it hangs for three or so weeks which luckly only happens every four or five years.
