I just played my first DVD on my linux box tonight. Beautiful. I'm running XINE and the only thing I had to add was the libdvdcss library and it all came into place. My first DVD was RED PLANET... excellent. Thanks for the SXS, Llama. It really saved me some time.
No problem, glad to have helped.
There aren't that many DVD burner brands out there yet. Its still a market in its infancy. However, you'll find that the same companies that make good quality CD burners, do the same for DVD burners. Although keep in mind that burning DVDs is still not a standard. There are at least two competitors out there, and its not yet clear who will win.Now a question... What is the preferred dvd writer brand? My copying targets will included SONY PLAY STATION 2 DVD's and a few movie DVD's. Anyone have a tip or two?
