This does happen on Gentoo. Sometimes harshly. Also, the various discussion moderators are often rather blunt about complaining when people don't see that their post is a duplicate question. I was a bit cautious at first when asking a question. It is not like one would have prior experience with their ebuild system when first starting to use it...
