Do you do this in the various discussion groups in the Gentoo site? The discussion groups are searchable. There seem to be entries from the dawn of Gentoo time. I find the choice of groups a bit odd, but if you post to the wrong one, the moderator will bump you to the right one, maybe with a slap. And one nice feature is that you can choose to get e-mail when there is a response so you do not need to keep checking back.
Which package is KPilot in? Sounds like PIM. I have 3.1 and do not have 'kpilot', id that is the program name.
