Right-click a folder and select Properties. Look at Identity. What does it say? Then check Settings - Configure Kmail - Identities and make sure everything is filled out. I can't remember this ever not working in kmail <shrug>. As a last resort (Brett will like this one), delete $HOME/.kde/share/config/kmailrc and create a fresh kmail configuration. Each folder can have its own identity, can be set up to handle a mailing list, and can be set up to expire messages and a couple other piddly things.
