Be careful. Some of the more advanced printing programs like to overwrite your manual printcap file from time to time. Redhat would do that, as I recall.

Thanks, I'll be keeping an eye on that (I've made copies of my printcap file as well as made notes on what I had to do). Slack seems to play well with manual settings. I've manually setup networking, XF86Config etc, and up to now all seems to work as it should. I guess this is one reason that I like playing with Slack. My other instalation (Gentoo) doesn't mess with things I've setup manually as well.
