I haven't read your rants. I use POP3. I understand that IMAP4 support
is improving.
I've used Kmail, but I stopped using it after I had to delete my inbox a
couple of times. Kmail would fail reading some piece of mail (I couldn't
determine which one). Also Kmail is (was) much slower at reading mail. I
haven't tried Kmail in 6 months, however, so as far as I know it could be
better now.
The only problem with sylpheed is those rare occasions when my mail server
is down; it hangs for a very long timeout. Sylpheed is also a little
slower at sending mail, FWTIW.
