Try this one for using DHCP

This is for Caldera but may work with SUSE if they are using
dhcp-client.
This works for me with Comcast in West Haven, CT

Subject: @Home setup
Hi folks,
I am trying to setup @Home (Comcast in Connecticut), and am having a
bit of
difficulty
first some basic info: suse 7.1, 3com 3cr29220 cable modem, Linksis
LNE100TX
v4 ethernet card. System works on win 98 (dual boot).
local @home doesn't use static IP's, but is reputed to change them
infrequently.
