Personally, I would hold off for 2.2 which is by all accounts another quantum
leap. Having said that, you _could_ bite the bullet once and download the
massive sources (many do), for 2.1.x, then, it _should_ be a relatively minor
task thereafter and forever more, to patch to 2.2.x when it becomes
available.
