If KDM doesn't allow the option to shutdown X server, then a simple "CTRL-ALT-BKSPC" should work. Glad to hear it worked for you! Well, not quite flawlessly, I had trouble disconnecting from the server. I ended up switching to a console (ctl-alt-F1) and killing X and kdm. There's gotta be a better way to close the session than that.
