Anyone playing with the new KDE 2.2? I got the src rpms and compiled
them on my system here. All went well with the exception that
kdegraphics won't compile. Not sure what that is but there are other
more worrisome problems.
Anyway, there is a real starnge problem with any of the KDE
applications, Opera and Netscape are not affested by this, the test for
any window is smashed up against the top of it area. ie, you can't
read the file, edit, menus because the word file is smashe in under the
title bar. Also, other text, like the introductional message on the
opening screen of Kongy is completely unreadable, like several lines
aree jumbled on top of one another. Drop down windows for selection of
options, say when the fonts selection under look & feel. The windows
to select the option are so small that no text can be seen, but this
goes for any window under nearly all the KDE apps. Also what text that
can be read is pressed up against the top of what ever window they are
in. For example, the fonts menu under look and feel, the main menu
showing the current font selections, every one of them is agains the
top of the little window they are displayed in.
Is this an xFree thing? I have the stock 4.02-11 installed if this
matters.
