I am getting rid of my Epson 850, which hung off my linux box. It worked
fine as a printer for a windows98 box on the home network.
I had all the printer drivers for the Epson 850 on the linux box, so it was
easy to install this printer on other windows computers, too. All worked well.
Now, I am trying a much easier method, just putting the printer on the linux
box but installing the drivers on the windows box. It won't work.
After I go through all the steps on the windows box, the last step says the
printer couldn't be installed. Try again.
Everything is working fine on the windows box as far as browsing the linux
server shares, including printers and files.
I can print to the samba shared printers from a linux box.
I have looked at the samba logs but can't see anything to tell me
what is wrong.
So, any idea why windows98 won't finish installing the printer?
Thanks,
Joel
Here is the printer share of interest:
Testprns and testparm give no errors:
The startup logs also show no errors.
