There should be no tricks at all.  Is your box capable of booting from
other CDs?  Perhaps your CD drive doesn't like the CD?  Are you able to
mount the CD (iso9660 filesystem) and look at its contents?

I've used a burnt ISO of the original CD myself, so the image is
definitely a good one.
