have a small problem with the latest xine that I am installing. The xine-libs
installs fine but when I compile xine-ui it errors out at::

hecking for xine-config... /usr/local/bin/xine-config
checking for XINE-LIB version >= 0.9.0... no
*** Could not run XINE test program, checking why...
*** The test program compiled, but did not run. This usually means
*** that the run-time linker is not finding XINE or finding the wrong
*** version of XINE. If it is not finding XINE, you'll need to set your
*** LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable, or edit /etc/ld.so.conf to point
*** to the installed location Also, make sure you have run ldconfig if that
*** is required on your system

I have entered in ld.so.conf the lines::
/usr/local/share/xine
/usr/local/lib/xine

But thats not the answer. I have put in a LD_LIRARY_PATH statement for kde
before but cannot remember how the syntax was or what I should put in.
I have had xine working but lost it all cutting back and forth with distros.
