These modules are the bain of my life at theis moment. I have done all I can think of to the point of a reinstall, and 7.3 should recognise the card and set it up, but no! The reuslt of lsmod after install is not encouraging , cannot see any ref to i2C:: Module Size Used by snd-pcm-oss 18368 1 (autoclean) snd-pcm-plugin 14480 0 (autoclean) [snd-pcm-oss] snd-mixer-oss 4768 0 (autoclean) [snd-pcm-oss] snd-card-via8233 5776 1 snd-pcm 29184 0 [snd-pcm-oss snd-pcm-plugin snd-card-via8233] snd-timer 8336 0 [snd-pcm] snd-ac97-codec 23456 0 [snd-card-via8233] snd-mixer 23488 0 [snd-mixer-oss snd-ac97-codec] snd 31344 1 [snd-pcm-oss snd-pcm-plugin snd-mixer-oss snd-card-via8233 snd-pcm snd-timer snd-ac97-codec snd-mixer] soundcore 3280 2 [snd] parport_pc 19280 1 (autoclean) lp 5248 0 (autoclean) parport 22240 1 (autoclean) [parport_pc lp] usb-storage 47792 0 (unused) mod_quickcam 28000 0 (unused) printer 5408 0 videodev 4544 1 [mod_quickcam] ipv6 124736 -1 (autoclean) evdev 4160 0 (unused) input 3072 0 [evdev] uhci 22400 0 (unused) usbcore 47264 1 [usb-storage mod_quickcam printer uhci] af_packet 11552 1 (autoclean) 8139too 11936 2 (autoclean) iptable_nat 12656 0 (autoclean) (unused) ip_conntrack 12848 1 (autoclean) [iptable_nat] iptable_filter 1728 0 (autoclean) (unused) ip_tables 10496 4 [iptable_nat iptable_filter] ext3 61312 3 jbd 41504 3 [ext3] ide-scsi 7552 0 Where do I go next to ensure that the mods are loaded, used to go to /etc/modules.conf but thats a _huge_ file in Suse! Hope its ok as i am attching the modules.conf, there are refs to the bttv. All seem to be re audio and not video nothing otherwise. This works fine in 7.2, mandrake and windows of course, NOT 7.3.................. BTW on reinstall I had to once again unhitch the hdc drive as it wanted to dlete a partition and make 3 others of my /backup and it did once again resize hda5 (windows D) and left is as 2.9mb and an unallocated area. Not a good thing for a new release. -- Keith Antoine aka 'skippy' 18 Arkana St, The Gap, Queensland 4061 Australia PH:61733002161 Retired Geriatric, Sometime Electronics Engineer, Knowall, Brain in storage _______________________________________________ Linux-users mailing list Archives, Digests, etc at http://linux.nf/mailman/listinfo/linux-users
