Well, I looked through my old sent mail logs and I can't find the 
thread and the Caldera list doesn't go back that far.  Looks like late 
1998, when running Col 2.2.  But that was the consensus.  But it also 
wasn't considered a "Bad Thing" (tm), more a term of endearment or 
respect that one might associate with a wise old sage.  
I think that Mike Andrew was in on the discussion, too.  Perhaps he's 
willing to confirm? <g>
(I think I'll go away and hide in a corner now, and see what happens)
