OK, then you need to determine what got broken. Passwords don't just change themselves. Either you tinkered with something you shouldn't have, or your box got compromised. > How can I alter my boot up squence so that I boot up into single user > mode. Well, if you're running GRUB, then you'll prolly need to edit the boot= line so that it says something like 'linux single'. If you're using LILO, then simply type 'linux single' at the LILO prompt. > Once I do, I would then use the COAS tools to re-enter the passwords? Errr...no. Now is not the time to be going to a GUI to solve your problems. You're going to need to get really familiar with the command line. ===== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lonni J.
