Yup. My wife brought home a couple of .xls files last night that she couldn't read on any of the machines at $herjob or on her Windows machine. I tried with StarOffice, NeXS, and Applixware, none of which could handle it. My conclusion was that it had to come from Office XP (strings did a pretty decent of extracting things that could be imported into something useful).
