Hi...

The alix/pfsense combo is going fine.

Also got a Wifi card from nicegear and use it as our access point as
well, works really well, no complaints, no hassles.

The only minor glitch was getting the image onto the CF card. That gave
me some pain with a cheap (dealextreme $5) card reader I was using.
Switched to the Sandisk one off my laptop and it worked first time.

The only disappointment in the plan was I wanted to use a PPPoE modem
instead of a ADSL router but it wasn't to be. Long story there but
essentially the supplier and importer (Hadley again, can't remember who
the importer was) were really helpful but the local exchange is using
some old/weird gear that the Draytek modem couldn't sync to properly.

The alix has been up for about 6 months non-stop now as it's on the PV
solar setup and runs directly from 12Vdc, off-grid. (But unfortunately
my router doesn't / wont, that's why I wanted the Draytek modem to work.)

What else can I tell ya? It just works...

Cheers, Me.
