I graph interface traffic on client machines using cacti, but that only 
shows ethernet traffic not internet traffic.

I was tempted at one time to create an internet interface and a LAN 
interface on every computer in the house using vlans, but it was too 
much work to reimplement.

So, you could use the pfsense packages
* bandwidthd
* darkstat

And to some extent squid +lightsquid might also help.

ntop is also packaged but its a pig normally, no idea how it would go. 
I've never used it on pfsense but on linux its fairly awful
