Same here, but I think it's more about bad programming practices when building add-ons than the browser itself. When running without any add-ons Firefox is really speedy and stable. I learnt that every time I install a new add-on I have to test it. Some do pass the this phase, but misbehave later when looking for upgrades or, for those that have to "call home" when there is a problem with their server, in which case I have to identify the culprit, uninstall it and look for equivalent functionality elsewhere. A pain indeed, and if I'd find same functionality in other browsers I'd switch.
