Forget about a wiki. Everything is already online. Everyone can set up a wiki, sit back and wait for everyone else to provide the content. If you want to fill it with your own content Bevan, feel free of course, but please don't expect the list members to do it for you. Social meetups sound like fun, I'd participate if I can. Technical support might still be valuable to newcomers along the way Derek suggests. Showing someone goes a lot further than lots of words. Showing how to solve a problem is much more educational than posting the answer on a mailing list. However it assumes 2 things: We know what newcomers are looking for in terms of help, and enough advanced users are available for providing that help.
