Turns out that Mozilla Thunderbird on Ubuntu 14.04 depends on nscd to be
installed installed and running.
Otherwise it keeps coming up with the Thunderbird Crash Reporter over
and over.
The only clue was "Segmentation Fault" segfault when running from
command prompt.
thunderbird -safe-mode did nothing different, still came up with
Crash Reporter repeatedly.
Posting for future reference and for search engines to index.
