I'm not having my Linux run on top of any doze system, thank you very

What's wrong with that? From my experience Linux VMs on Windows hosts
run just fine. I have been using this kind of configuration for years in
various work environments, where the company standard usually was some
flavour of Windows. Having a Linux VM can go a long way towards
providing some really useful tools with very little cost and effort. I
remember that at one stage I wanted to demonstrate a Linux-based web
service to colleagues, and I simply created a VM on my usual work
desktop computer and then gave everyone the respective IP address and
port number to connect to my "server" - quick and easy to set up, no
need to look for hardware, and no extra cabling. And for a quick demo
with a handful of users performance was still very snappy.
Kind regards,
Helmut.
