I very often get errors from mutt - it fails when I am logged
in remotely and random network delays separate parts of the escape
sequence, say for Up.
Yes, you are right, this means that there is some reason to make
more instead of less use of CSI. I'll change my keymap.

[But we were talking about the direction program -> kernel -> screen.]
