The combinaisons are defined in a "Compose" file; if you look at
..../locale/en_US.UTF-8/Compose you will see the file is empty :)

I'm currently writing such a file and will send to XFree86 soon; I can send
you the current file, it isn't finished yet, but has the same support as
in latin1 already.
