We don't have any JIS standards in our libraries, so I have no direct
access to them and have to rely on what Japanese people tell me about
them. I'd ask some of the people on the IRG, who maintain the UnihanDB,
for instance

  John Jenkins <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
  Mike Ksar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

The JIS catalogue is on

  http://www.jsa.or.jp/default_english.asp

and that they just started to sell standards online. For instance:

  JIS X 0201:1997 1.4 k
  JIS X 0212:1990 3.2 k (English translation: 14.4 k)
  JIS X 0213:2000 11.0 k
  JIS X 0221-1:2001 32.6 k

(1 EUR = 0.117 k, so JIS standards are just as outrageously expensive
as ISO standards :-( ).
