On my system in an utf-8 enabled xterm, with either en_GB.UTF-8 or ja_JP.UTF-8 locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ groff-utf8 -Thtml -mandoc java.ja.1 >java.ja.html groff: can't find `DESC' file groff:fatal error: invalid device `html' and with groff-utf8 -Tutf8 -mandoc java.ja.1|less I get parts of the manpage interspersed with *lots* of messages like: <standard input>:739: warning [p 4, 10.2i]: can't break line <standard input>:744: warning [p 4, 10.7i]: cannot adjust line <standard input>:745: warning [p 4, 10.8i]: cannot adjust line <standard input>:749: warning [p 4, 11.2i]: cannot adjust line What could be wrong on my (Debian) system?
