Hello,

I've already tried to get help on the following on the forum, but
until now no replies. Maybe that someone here can help me.

I am trying to get a quickcam fusion running on a fedora FC5 box.
$ uname-a
Linux myhost 2.6.17-1.2174_FC5 #1 Tue Aug 8 15:30:55 EDT 2006 i686
i686 i386 GNU/Linux
uvc-linux downloaded on 26-08-2006.

make and make install went without errors.

When manually modprobing uvcvideo I get:
# modprobe uvcvideo
FATAL: Error inserting uvcvideo
(/lib/modules/2.6.17-1.2174_FC5/usb/media/uvcvideo.ko): Unknown symbol
in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

Added to my dmesg output is:

v4l2_common: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
Linux video capture interface: v2.00
uvcvideo: disagrees about version of symbol video_devdata
uvcvideo: Unknown symbol video_devdata

uvcvideo: disagrees about version of symbol video_register_device
uvcvideo: Unknown symbol video_register_device
uvcvideo: disagrees about version of symbol video_device_release

When I insert the usb plug of my camera I get the following output in dmesg:

usb 5-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2
usb 5-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
uvcvideo: disagrees about version of symbol video_devdata

What is going wrong here? Suffice it to say that help is much appreciated.

Martin
