False. Many of Luca's V4L2 drivers have been being present in the Linux
kernel for years.
This implies that they are open source and you can develop your own
application as well.

I only mentioned one application for testing the driver. I do not see
anything bad in doing this in a developer list. If you do not like
the fact that the full-featured version is commercial, I'd like to only
say that that is usually available for a fee and the incoming is also
used to maintain the site or to buy new hardware I need to test
the open source drivers that I release to the community.
