I was browsing the v4l wiki at
http://www.linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.php/Webcams

And it's written :

"In the meantime, a patch is available to reset the webcam when a problem is
detected. " concerning the bug in the firmware of the logitech cams...

Does anyone have that patch ? is it a patch in the driver itself ? is it
transparent (does it have a big impact on the video shown... stop for x
seconds then restart .. or restart without the user noticing ) ? or is it
just to close the device an reopend it when ioctl fails ?

I would be very interested in any workaround possible..., if I can help in
any way...

Thanks

Antoine

These three lines come from the USB audio driver and have nothing to do
with uvcvideo, so no need to worry.

It's indeed a hardware problem. If you're browsing through the mailing
list archive you'll find quite a few threads about that problem. We're
still looking for a good workaround for the UVC driver.

Cheers,
