Like Mark McCarron, I also have this camera on an Acer laptop, and it does not
work under Linux either. I also look forward to helping in the upstream.
The easiest way to see that the camera does not work is that no /dev/video is
created.
By the way, I have the message reception for this list disabled, so please Cc
