I have to second that. This test app finally shows up the different settings.

I have dumped my settings of the cam both after a cold start with the defaults
and after letting windows onto the cam.

here is the diff:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ diff -u logi9k-linsettings logi9k-winsettings
--- logi9k-linsettings 2008-03-14 11:30:28.000000000 +0100

-control 0x00980918 Power Line Frequency min 0 max 2 step 1 default 2 current 2.
+control 0x00980918 Power Line Frequency min 0 max 2 step 1 default 2 current 1.
   0: Disabled
   1: 50 Hz
   2: 60 Hz

-control 0x0098091a White Balance Temperature min 0 max 10000 step 10 default
4000 current 4000.
+control 0x0098091a White Balance Temperature min 0 max 10000 step 10 default
4000 current 7322.

-control 0x009a0902 Exposure (Absolute) min 1 max 10000 step 1 default 166
current 166.
-control 0x009a0903 Exposure, Auto Priority min 1 max 10000 step 1 default 166
current 1.
+control 0x009a0902 Exposure (Absolute) min 1 max 10000 step 1 default 166
current 338.
+control 0x009a0903 Exposure, Auto Priority min 1 max 10000 step 1 default 166
current 0.

So it boils down to Power Line Frequency, White balance and Exposure. I tried
changing these
settings with luvcview, but got only errors.

can this test.c be enhanced to be able to set those parameters?

thanks
Philipp
