May be we should compare the xorg.conf's. I assume you've restarted the x
server after changing the line.
Which distro and version are you using (don't remember if you've mentioned)
I'm pretty sure that this solved the issue for me and many others.
and this is definitely a Skype issue, which they don't plan to fix soon :-(
