To whom it may concern:

I am not a developer, but I am assisting someone with getting their
recently purchased Logitech Orbit/Sphere AF webcam working. They have
successfully achieved getting video from the camera, but feel they were
mislead by the compatibility list (found at
http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/) showing a green check-mark next to their
model of camera with no footnote mentioning the apparent lack of support
for the cameras motorized motion tracking feature. I explained to him
that it is likely Logitech has not released specs for the UVC developers
to use in order to create software/drivers to support this unique
feature, but I wanted to confirm with you guys that this feature is
indeed unsupported in Linux and if so if you could please add an
additional footnote on the site stating this so nobody gets the wrong
impression from the green check-mark. However, if anyone does know of a
way to get this feature working under Linux, some added guidance on how
to do this would be spectacular.

Thanks for your time and assistance. Please keep up the good work!

Sincerely,
David Steinlage
