Hi, uvc was integrated into the kernel from 2.6.27 onwards, so you shouldn't need to install it from source on a newer kernel. In any case you should be able to compile and install it with your kernel version. Can you check your /etc/modprobe.d directory for any uvc configuration file (older versions use modprobe.conf), maybe your system is setting some bad module parameter when you try to insert uvcvideo.
