i think it is good time to update FAQ. And add notice about reading the
FAQ before ask some thing on maeling list.
My suggestion entry to FAQ:

I have an UVC webcam but it is not working. What do you need to
troubleshoot it?
1. Read "How do I find out whether my camera is a UVC device or not?"
2. Create usb dump file and attach it to email:
lsusb -vd 046d:08cb > lsusb_dump
3. Enable debug for uvcvideo module:
sudo echo 0xfff > /sys/module/uvcvideo/parameters/trace
4. reproduce the problem
5. attach dmesg to email
dmesg > dmesg
PS: Please do not use HTML formatet mails.
