I'm quite aware.

Multiple parts of the userspace need to be updated to work for 6.1. In
particular the on-target build support. I have 4 of the 6
architectures fixed now, and then will be looking into the rest of the
support applications.

It is much more than creating the branches, and booting a single
board. While the -dev kernels are not as fully tested as the released
reference ones, they are significantly tested to ensure sanity and
core support across all architectures.

I'm also aware of the -stable releases, EOL dates, etc.

I sent the patch to update the default to 6.0, it never did get
merged, but I haven't pursued it, as I'm going to 6.1 shortly.
