From the Greek Extended Unicode block -
http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U1F00.pdf
letters that have YPOGEGRAMMENI (small 'i' character under the main letter)
typically have this 'i' under the main letter rather than on the right of the
main letter.
Both UbuntuFontBeta and http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U1F00.pdf have the
'ι' on the right instead of under.
However, in Greek fonts such as those from the Greek Font Society
(http://greekfontsociety.gr/) the ι is under the main letter.
You can try out the GFS fonts in Ubuntu with
sudo apt-get install ttf-gfs-artemisia ttf-gfs-baskerville ttf-gfs-
bodoni-classic ttf-gfs-complutum ttf-gfs-didot ttf-gfs-didot-classic
