Both UbuntuFontBeta and http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U1F00.pdf have the 'ι' on the right instead of under. However, in Greek fonts such as those from the Greek Font Society (http://greekfontsociety.gr/) the ι is under the main letter.
