I meant a copy of the actual firmware partition of your iPod, but I 
don't think we really need one, except for maybe comparing the 
partitions contents of a 2g and 3g with exactly the same firmware, which 
would be in fact quite interesting, although I expect they will match 
100%. Does anyone have a 3g to try installing 2g firmware on it? (If you 
don't want to break your iPod by testing this, better disable the AUPD 
file before disconnecting the iPod, although I would expect 2g disk mode 
to run on 3g, too.
How does disk mode look like on 3g?
